Who we are
Turoff is the name under which Oleksandr Turovskyi, an independent developer, publishes the language-learning apps Česky, Polski and Deutsch. This policy explains how this website and our apps handle personal data. Each app also has its own detailed policy with every data flow listed: Česky, Polski, Deutsch. If the two ever differ, the app’s own policy is the one that applies to that app.
This website
turoff.app has no accounts, forms, analytics or ads, and loads nothing from third parties: fonts and images come from the site itself. It remembers only the language you pick, stored in your own browser. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, and may set a short-lived security cookie (see the Cookie Policy).
What our apps process
- Account (optional). The course works without one. If you sign in, Firebase Authentication (Google) stores your email address or your Apple or Google sign-in identifier.
- Learning progress. When you are signed in, your progress, words and settings are synced through Cloud Firestore (Google) so they survive a new phone.
- Profile and leaderboard. When you are signed in, your nickname, profile picture, points and streak appear on the leaderboard, which other signed-in learners can see. The picture is either a photo you upload (stored in Firebase Cloud Storage) or the photo from your Google or Apple account. You can change both in your profile.
- Usage statistics and crash reports. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics receive pseudonymised usage events and technical crash data so we can see what works and fix what breaks. There are no advertising SDKs.
- Speech recognition. Your spoken answers are recognised by your phone’s built-in speech recognition from Apple or Google, which may process your voice on that company’s servers under its own terms. A short recording goes to Google Gemini to be transcribed, and is then discarded, only if your phone has no recogniser for the language, or when you dictate a reply to the AI tutor.
- AI features. When you use the AI tutor, photo or handwriting input, the text or image you submit is sent to Google’s Gemini models, which produce the answer. The apps send it to Google directly (or through Google’s Firebase AI Logic).
- Subscriptions. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we never see card details. RevenueCat receives the purchase data from the store and your account identifier to confirm what you have paid for.
- Course content. Lessons and audio are downloaded from Cloudflare, with Supabase as a backup source. These requests carry no account data.
We do not sell personal data, share it with data brokers or use it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, object to processing, or complain to your data protection authority. You can delete your account and its synced data yourself in any of our apps: Settings → Delete account. For anything else, write to foodysupport@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days.
Children
Our apps are meant for users aged 13 and over. Where local law sets a higher age of digital consent (15 in Czechia, 16 in Poland and Germany), younger users need a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
Changes
We will update this page when our apps or providers change. The date at the top shows the current revision.
